PLAYERS

Q:
I'm a player on my official school team. How do I register?
A: First, ask your coach to set up your team online at this website under the correct division.  SECOND, once your school team has been set up online, you and your teammates can then register for your team by clicking on the appropriate division that your team has been entered under.

Q: I'm not on an official school team. Can I play? How do I register?
A: Yes, anyone can play! You can either make up your own team, OR register as a 'Free Agent' and be placed on a team.

Q: I want to register my "made-up team".  How do I do this?
A: First you need to get your coach (any adult) to set up your team online by clicking the correct division link under the Register Now menu.  Once your team is set up, we will add it to the appropriate division.  Then you and the rest of your team can register under your team name.  Each individual player on your team will register and pay their fee individually online. You don't need to collect any fees or waivers, it's all done online.  Your coach will then have access to the team roster online.

Q: I'm an individual player with no team to play on.  Can I still play?
A: YES! Everyone can play in the Simcoe County Cup! Just register as a 'Free Agent' under one of the non-school team divisions. We'll find a team for you to play on!


SCHOOL TEAM COACHES (Teachers and Principles)

Q: Are official school teams allowed to participate in the Simcoe County Cup?
A: Yes. The Superintendant of Facility Services for the Simcoe County District School Board (and on behalf of the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board) has provided written guidelines outlining the rules under which school teams may enter Simcoe County Cup events.  Please review the guidelines for official school teams here.
 
Q:
I'm a school teacher or principal. How do I register my school team?

A: First, click the correct division link under the Register Now menu, and submit your team to an appropriate division (no Fee).  As soon as your team has been set up online, your players may now register individually online under your team name. They will be required to make payment of their player registration fee and provide other pertinent information (caliber level, date of birth, gender, parent information, etc).  Players will also digitally sign a waiver at this time.  As a coach you are not required to do anything else to get your team registered for the Simcoe County Cup.

 As the coach of my school team, do I need to collect registration forms, fees, waivers, etc?

A:
 No. We've made it as easy as possible for you as a coach to participate in this event!  Once you have set up your team online, simply direct all your players to www.simcoecountycup.com where they will register under your school team.  During registration, players will pay their fee, sign the waiver, and provide complete registration details including contact information, parent/guardian information, player caliber, playing position, etc.  You will have private online access to your team roster in order to manage your team and make sure everyone gets signed up.

Q: What is the cost to enter a team?
A: 
There is no set cost to enter a team? Players will pay an individual player registration fee of $79 during the online registration process.

Q: I am a parent who would like to coach an official school team.  Can I do this?
A: Yes. The Simcoe County District School Board amended in policy on non-teaching volunteers in school, to include volunteer who would like to coach school teams.  Parents who would like to coach a school team must be approved by the school principal and may require an application to obtain this approval. PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Q: When will my son/daughter being playing?
A: This will depend on the division that he/she is playing in. All pool round games will be played on a weekday (9am-5pm) at either East Bayfield Community Centre or Holly Community Centre.  See your division schedule when it is announced. Medal games (Gold and Bronze) will be played on a day at the end of the pool rounds, to be announced as soon as the Barrie Molson Centre availability is confirmed with the City of Barrie.

Q: What is the cost?
A: Player Registration Fee is $79 per player.

Q: Can I coach a team?
A: Yes. In the non-school teams divisions, players can make up and submit their own team, and parents may coach that team.  We encourage kids to have fun creating their own team with their friends of all calibers. Players in non-school team divisions, are not required to attend the same school.  The emphasis is on enabling friends from all over Simcoe County to play together.

Q:
 Will there be a good balancing of team caliber?
A: Yes! We have provided both 'Competitive' and 'Recreation' divisions for all age groups, to ensure that each and every team has a fair and reasonable chance to win each and every time they play.

Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Player registration fees are fully refundable up until the close of registration (April 1, 2015).  For refund requests after April 1, 2015, we will make ever effort to find a replacement player to cover the refunded registration.  In every case we are happy to review on a case by case basis.  Our goal is to make sure everyone comes away happy.
