What Qualifies as an Official School Team?

We are pleased to offer divisions for official school teams only!  The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) along with the Simcoe-Muskoka District School Board (SMCDSB) have outlined the requirements that must be followed by school teams who wish to participate in Simcoe County Cup events:

  • Participation in an invitational tournament such as The Simcoe County Cup
is permissible for a school team as long as all regular procedures for school
    teams are followed.

  • School teams are those teams that are authorized by the principal and as such
are under the supervision of a(n) SCDSB/SMCDSB employee(s) and/or approved
    volunteer(s).

Additionally,

  • The days chosen for these events are school instructional days. Students not in school, attending this event, and not with an established school team, are absent from school.
  • If a team is not authorized by the principal to take part in this tournament there is no school team involved.
  • There should be no indication that an ad hoc team or group of students represents a school.
  • School uniforms are not to be provided to groups of students to represent a school unless they are part of the established school team.
Simcoe County Cup and it's organizers fully and willingly support the above requirements, and look forward to providing a safe, exciting, competitive and fun sporting environment for all school based participants!
